🔤 IAST Transliteration

Śrī-bhagavān uvāca
mayy āveśya mano ye māṁ nitya-yuktā upāsate |
śraddhayā parayopetās te me yuktatamā matāḥ ||2||

🌍 English Translation

The Supreme Lord said:
Those devotees who fix their minds on Me,
who are constantly engaged in My devotion,
and who worship Me with supreme faith —
they are considered by Me to be the highest yogis.

🌿 Detailed English Explanation

This verse is Krishna’s definitive answer to Arjuna’s question about the best spiritual path.

Krishna emphasizes three essential qualities of the highest yogi:

1️⃣ Fixing the Mind on God

“Fixing the mind” means more than meditation.
It implies emotional absorption, remembrance, and love.

A distracted mind causes suffering.
A God-centered mind creates peace.

2️⃣ Constant Engagement (Nitya-Yukta)

True devotion is not part-time.
It flows through:

  • work

  • relationships

  • challenges

  • decisions

Such a devotee sees God in every aspect of life.

3️⃣ Supreme Faith (Parā Śraddhā)

This faith is unshakable.
It does not depend on outcomes, success, or comfort.

Krishna clearly states that He personally considers such devotees the highest yogis.

This verse overturns the idea that yoga is only physical postures or silent meditation.
According to the Gita, yoga is loving union with the Divine.

(Life Lessons)

🌱 Life Lessons in English

  • What the mind clings to shapes our life

  • Devotion is the highest form of yoga

  • Consistency matters more than intensity

  • Faith transforms fear into strength

  • A God-centered life leads to inner peace

(Conclusion)

  • “Only through unwavering devotion” — indicates that dedicated love and surrender are essential.
