🙏 Freedom Through Faith: Obeying Divine Wisdom Liberates You | Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3, Shloka 31 Explained

(Sanskrit)

🔤 IAST Transliteration

ye me matam idaṁ nityam anutiṣṭhanti mānavāḥ
śraddhāvanto ’nasūyanto mucyante te ’pi karmabhiḥ ॥ 31 ॥

(Hindi Translation)

🌐 English Translation

Those humans who constantly follow My teachings with faith and without envy become free from the bondage of actions.

(Detailed Explanation in Hindi)

📖 Detailed Explanation in English

Krishna now affirms that faithful, consistent practice of His teachings leads to liberation:

  • “Ye me matam idam nityam anutiṣṭhanti” – Those who follow this teaching regularly,

  • “śraddhāvantaḥ” – with devotion and faith,

  • “anasūyantaḥ” – without fault-finding or envy,

  • “te api mucyante karmabhiḥ” – they too are freed from bondage to karma.

👉 This verse reveals a very inclusive and compassionate truth:

You don’t have to be a perfect yogi or a great scholar—if you follow Krishna’s words with sincere faith and humility, you will be liberated.

Even if someone lacks complete philosophical knowledge, a heart full of trust and a life of action rooted in Krishna's wisdom is enough.

This is the path of bhakti-yukta karma yoga — devotion in action, guided by divine wisdom.

💡 Life Lessons / Practical Takeaways

  • 🛤️ Consistent practice of divine teachings brings liberation.

  • 💖 Faith is more powerful than logic when it comes to spiritual growth.

  • 🤝 Avoid the tendency to criticize spiritual paths you don’t yet understand.

  • 🙇‍♂️ Humility + Action = Liberation.

  • 📿 You don’t have to be perfect—just sincere.

🔚 Conclusion

In this verse, Krishna reassures us:

“Follow My teachings with faith and without envy, and you will be free.”

No matter who you are, where you're starting from, or how imperfect your practice may seem — if there is faith, humility, and steady effort, the bondage of karma will dissolve.

In the next shloka, Krishna will describe what happens to those who reject this wisdom out of pride or ignorance.
