IAST Transliteration

śrī-bhagavān uvāca —
sarvabhūta-stham ātmānaṁ sarvabhūtāni ca ātmani,
īkṣate yoga-yuktātmā sarvatra sama-darśanaḥ ॥ 6.42 ॥

English Translation

The Blessed Lord said — A yogi, united with yoga, sees the Self present in all beings and all beings in the Self; such a yogi has a vision of equality everywhere.

✨ Detailed English Explanation

In this verse, Krishna describes the characteristic of a yogi with true vision:

  • Self in all beings: A yogi sees the imperishable Self in every living entity.

  • Equality everywhere: Such a yogi treats all beings with equal regard, seeing no difference between friends, enemies, or strangers.

  • Union through yoga: By integrating mind, intellect, and Self through yoga, the yogi attains this equal vision.

Thus, yoga is not only about meditation or postures; it transforms one’s perception, fostering compassion and impartiality.

  • Treat all beings equally, without distinguishing between friend or foe.

Conclusion
