(Bhagavad Gita 7.11)

🔤 IAST Transliteration:

Balaṁ balavatāṁ cāhaṁ kāma-rāga-vivarjitam,
Dharmāviruddho bhūteṣu kāmo’smi bharatarṣabha.

🌍 English Translation:

O best of the Bharatas (Arjuna), I am the strength of the strong, free from desire and attachment. I am the passion (kāma) in beings that is not opposed to righteousness (dharma).

🌼 Detailed English Explanation:

In this verse, Lord Krishna reveals a profound spiritual truth about strength and desire. He declares that He is the strength of the strong, but only when that strength is free from attachment and selfish desire. True strength, according to Krishna, is not brute force or domination, but righteous power used in alignment with dharma (righteousness).

The phrase “kāma-rāga-vivarjitam” means “devoid of lust and attachment.” It implies that divine strength is not driven by ego, greed, or passion, but by purity and self-control. A person who uses power for justice, protection, and good causes manifests God’s presence.

Further, Krishna adds, “I am desire that is not contrary to dharma.” This “righteous desire” includes noble aspirations — the wish to do good, to create, to learn, and to love selflessly. Desire in itself is not evil; it becomes impure only when it leads to adharma (unrighteousness).

Thus, Krishna teaches us the distinction between divine desire and material lust. Both strength and passion are divine when guided by dharma, but destructive when driven by selfish motives.

(Life Lessons):

🌟 In English:

  1. True strength lies in righteousness, not in aggression or domination.

  2. Desires are not sinful if they align with moral and spiritual principles.

  3. Both power and passion come from God — their purity depends on how we use them.

  4. Self-control and dharmic action lead one closer to divine consciousness.

  5. Use your energy for good — to protect, to serve, and to uplift — that is divine strength.

(Conclusion):

(Bhagavad Gita 7.10)

🔤 IAST Transliteration:

Bījaṁ māṁ sarvabhūtānāṁ viddhi pārtha sanātanam,
Buddhir buddhimatām asmi tejas tejasvinām aham.

🌍 English Translation:

O Partha (Arjuna), know that I am the eternal seed of all living beings. I am the intelligence of the intelligent and the brilliance of the powerful.

🌼 Detailed English Explanation:

In this verse, Lord Krishna reveals a profound truth about divine omnipresence. He declares Himself as the eternal seed (sanātana bīja) of all beings. Just as the existence of a tree depends on its seed, all forms of life and energy in the universe have their origin in God.

The term “eternal seed” signifies that God’s creative power is timeless — it never began and will never end. All living beings, whether human, animal, or celestial, spring from this divine energy.

When Krishna says, “I am the intelligence of the intelligent,” He emphasizes that every spark of wisdom, creativity, and understanding originates from Him. Similarly, “I am the brilliance of the brilliant” means that the strength, courage, and radiance seen in great souls, heroes, and thinkers are reflections of the divine essence within them.

In essence, this verse urges us to see God in every expression of intelligence and strength, recognizing that all greatness comes from Him alone.

(Life Lessons):

🌟 In English:

  1. God is the true source of all intelligence and power — stay humble, not proud.

  2. Using your talents and wisdom for righteous purposes is the real form of devotion.

  3. Remember God in moments of success; He is the reason behind your brilliance.

  4. This verse teaches us to recognize divinity in every being and every talent.

(Conclusion):

Gita 2.17 Explanation in Hindi & English

🔤 Sanskrit Transliteration

Avināśi tu tad viddhi yena sarvam idaṁ tatam
Vināśam avyayasya asya na kaścit kartum arhati

(Meaning & Explanation in Hindi)

🌍 English Explanation of Gita 2.17

Lord Krishna says:

“Know that to be indestructible by which all this is pervaded. No one can bring about the destruction of this imperishable soul.”

In simple terms:

  • The entire universe is filled with consciousness or soul.

  • That soul is imperishable, unchanging, and eternal.

  • No one, no force in the universe, can destroy it.

This verse deepens the philosophical foundation of the immortality of the soul that Krishna is laying down for Arjuna.

✨ Philosophical Significance

  1. Spiritual Identity: We are not this perishable body, but the imperishable soul.

  2. Universal Connection: The same soul-energy pervades all creation.

  3. Freedom from Fear: If soul is eternal, there is no need to fear death.

  4. Foundation of Karma Yoga: Selfless action is easier when we realize we are not this body.

🌱 Life Lessons from Gita 2.17

  1. Fearlessness Comes from Truth:

  2. Don’t Mourn Change:

  3. See All as One:

  4. Inner Strength:

  5. Death is Not the End:

🔄 Relevance in Modern Life

🧠 Inspiring Quote Based on Gita 2.17

“That which pervades all cannot be destroyed by anyone – for it was never born and shall never die.”

“When you know you are eternal, all fears fall away.”

(Conclusion in Hindi)
